The ceremony awards top work by Nebraska’s public relations, marketing and communication professionals. Emspace + Lovgren was awarded for our work in community relations, media, websites and more — winning an award for each of our 13 submissions and securing 11 awards of excellence and four top scores.

Entering its sixth decade, the Gretchen Swanson Center for Nutrition partnered with Emspace + Lovgren to facilitate a rebrand to better reflect its breadth of impact. The Center for Nutrition and Health Impact launched in 2024, celebrating a smooth transition to the new name and receiving welcoming acceptance from its stakeholders.
Leading up to Malcolm X’s induction to the Nebraska Hall of Fame, Malcolm X Memorial Foundation partnered with Emspace + Lovgren to spread awareness of the milestone accomplishment. Earned media efforts far exceeded expectations, resulting in 40+ stories and national coverage from USA Today, National Associated Press, Adafruit and VOA News.
Created alongside Omaha ForUs’ mental health practitioner, the Best Life Mental Wellness zine and accompanying safety plan outline mental wellness and crisis resources for LGBTQ+ people, helping increase Omaha ForUs’ clients’ understanding of their social support networks and how to care for themselves in the event of a crisis.
After a year of its Quality Foundations program, Step Up to Quality discovered participants needed additional structure. Emspace + Lovgren designed a custom coaching binder with an established organizing method to better set them up for success. To date, SUTQ has mailed 83 binders, and the program satisfaction rate increased 9%.
Park Omaha partnered with Emspace + Lovgren to spearhead a communications campaign in advance of the 2024 College World Series to help educate fans about how, when and where to park so they’d never miss the first pitch. Efforts resulted in significant media coverage and a 23% increase in web traffic.
Eat soup. Buy art. Change lives. Through an integrated campaign of earned media outreach, influencer content and paid social, Visiting Nurse Association’s 27th annual Art & Soup fundraiser achieved a record-breaking year in ticket sales, drawing 880 attendees and raising more than $130,000 for VNA’s shelter nursing program.
Emspace + Lovgren’s branding, public engagement, earned and owned media efforts to resolve misinformation and build enthusiasm for the Omaha streetcar project continue to yield positive results: garnering more than 175+ media stories, reducing online inquiries by 63% and engaging more than 1,865+ residents at 23 community events or appearances.
Media coverage highlighting the opening of Community Alliance’s transformational Center for Mental Health resulted in 16 stories, including a front-page feature in the Omaha World-Herald. The ribbon-cutting was attended by Omaha’s three TV news outlets, as well as 125 community members and dignitaries, including Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen.
After resolving slow site load times, reimagining the site map, adding search capabilities and implementing a rebrand, thekimfoundation.org has seen an 11% increase in monthly pageviews and a 14% increase in the average session duration, helping visitors more easily access the mental health and suicide prevention resources they need.
An architectural archive and preservation resource, the Landmarks Historical Preservation Commission partnered with Emspace + Lovgren to design an accessible website showcasing historic Omaha landmarks and inviting people to participate in preservation efforts. Since its launch in 2024, the website has seen a notable 45% increase in site traffic and pageviews.
The “Monumental Momentum” annual report celebrates a pivotal moment and optimistic vision of Omaha, highlighting each of Mayor Stothert’s priorities for the city. The digital reports had an average read time of 1.4 minutes, and QR codes generated engagement beyond her series of community town hall meetings.
Breaking the Silence raised over $500,000 for Community Alliance, celebrating a record-breaking attendance and 91% increase in ticket sales. Media coverage helped position Community Alliance as the preeminent mental wellness resource in Omaha, fostering open discussion of mental health and the need for access to services for those affected.
As Kiewit Luminarium approached its first anniversary, Emspace + Lovgren collaborated with its marketing team to develop an ongoing earned media strategy and build meaningful community connection to the next-generation science center. Our pitches resulted in 50+ stories and the Luminarium’s exhibitions, events and staff were frequently a front-page, top-of-the-broadcast storyline.
