Archdiocese of Omaha
JPII Newman Center
The Archdiocese of Omaha partnered with Emspace to develop a brand and communications strategy for a Catholic Newman Center near the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO). Named in honor of St. John Paul II, the new 100,000-square-foot facility opened in fall 2016 to accommodate 164 students in apartment-style dorm rooms, a commons area, offices, an outdoor courtyard, a residence for two priests and a chapel.
Emspace developed the brand — inspired by St. John Paul II and his teachings — and designed print and online materials for fundraising and recruiting efforts. Emspace assisted in planning the groundbreaking event and press conference to celebrate the Archdiocese of Omaha’s work to fill a void for the next generation of Catholic students in the Omaha area. Speakers included leaders from the Catholic community, state government and UNO.
Since the grand opening, the JPII Newman Center has flourished with hundreds of students participating in events, attending Mass and living in the apartments. To better meet the needs of these students, Emspace created a new student brochure and refreshed the JPII Newman Center website.
