Archdiocese of Omaha
JPII Newman Center
The Archdiocese of Omaha partnered with Emspace to develop a brand and communications strategy for a Catholic Newman Center to be built near the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO). Named in honor of St. John Paul II, the new 100,000-square-foot facility, opened in fall 2016, with a residence hall for 164 students in apartment-style dorm rooms, a commons area and multi-purpose room, offices, an outdoor courtyard, a residence for two priests and a chapel.
Emspace developed the brand, inspired by St. John Paul II and his teachings, as well as printed and online materials for fundraising and recruiting. The JPII Newman Center was built for the target audiences of donors and students. The interactive website includes an overview of the future impact of the center, history of St. John Paul II, a blog for student testimonies and project updates, student ministry opportunities, a student event calendar and housing information.
Emspace also assisted in planning the groundbreaking event and press conference to celebrate the Archdiocese of Omaha’s work to fill a void for the next generation of Catholic students in the Omaha area. Speakers included leaders from the Catholic community, UNO and state government.
